There was one gas station in cities across Franklin County selling diesel gas at the lowest price of $3.39 per gallon in the week ending Feb. 28, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.

Reported prices for diesel gas in Franklin County averaged $3.46 per gallon.

Among 43 gas stations in cities within Franklin County, nine offered diesel gas.

Across North Carolina, the average reported price for a gallon of diesel gas rose to $3.51, compared to the week before.

U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
