The Town of Rolesville and the Rolesville Police Department have issued a warning to residents about a scam targeting community members and applicants. The fraudulent emails claim to be from the “Planning Commission Town of Rolesville” and request payment for an invoice. These emails are sent from a non-official address, planning-rolesvillen@usa.com.
Authorities emphasize that official communications from the town will only come from email addresses ending in @rolesvillenc.gov. Residents are advised to delete these messages immediately and avoid clicking on any links or providing personal or financial information.
To protect themselves, residents should be wary of unsolicited emails or texts asking for payment or sensitive information. Any requests related to the town should be verified through official channels. Suspicious emails can be reported to both the Town of Rolesville and the Rolesville Police Department. Those who suspect they may have fallen victim to this scam are encouraged to contact the police department at (919) 556-7226.
