TOWN OF MOORESVILLE: Morrisville Suspending Senior Programs due to COVID-19 Concerns

Ncov

Town of Morrisville issued the following announcement on Mar. 11.

Out of concerns related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Town of Morrisville is suspending all senior programming (programs, trips, fitness & exercise programs) until further notice, effective immediately. While the risk of contracting COVID-19 in Morrisville and Wake County at this time remains low, this precautionary measure is being done with an understanding that our senior population, those 65 and over, are considered high-risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Information about specific programs being suspended can be found on the Town of Morrisville website. Citizens can also call 919-463-7100 with specific information requests. Full refunds will be issued for any programs canceled due to COVID-19.

Town leaders are monitoring the situation in coordination with Wake County Public Health officials that are the lead agency for this event to implement plans as we normally would for any emergent health-related situation. Our top priority is the health and safety of our citizens and our employees, and their patience and understanding are appreciated.

The Town of Morrisville encourages the proactive use of the following simple precautionary measures to remain healthy:

  • Wash your hands.
  • Don’t touch your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay away from sick people.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces using regular household cleaning spray or wipes.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Stay home if you’re sick and don’t send sick children to school or childcare.
