The North Carolina Values Coalition endorsed Rep. Ted Davis, Jr. (R-New Hanover) in his reelection bid to represent District 20 in the state House of Representatives.
Davis said that he was "honored" by the endorsement in a Sept. 12 post to his Facebook page.
"The Coalition works toward advancing public policies that protect and promote family values by educating voters about the best pro-family candidates for public office," Davis wrote in the post. "This year, candidates were evaluated by using multiple factors, including responses to a questionnaire, candidate interviews, public position statements, and past voting records."
Davis, a Republican, is facing a challenge from Democratic candidate Adam Ericson.
"The Coalition found me to be the best candidate in House District 20 to stand strong in Raleigh for family values like protecting life, advancing religious freedoms, promoting school choice, and ensuring privacy and safety for our children, as well as supporting pro-family public policies that will positively impact the culture of our state," he wrote."
