Town of Holly Springs issued the following announcement on Jul. 22.
At its July 20 meeting, the Holly Springs Town Council approved an amendment to the Southern Crossroads master plan in a 3-2 vote. The Council also approved a development plan for the Southern Crossroads Medical Office by a 3-2 vote as well.
The development plan was approved with three conditions that include a greenway connection, an increase in buffer screening, and inter-connectivity. That plan includes three one-story medical office buildings on the north side of Ralph Stephens Road, east of South Main Street.
Also July 20, the Council also recognized the parents of Olympic diver Andrew Capobianco of Holly Springs. Mayor Dick Sears presented a proclamation honoring Capobianco to his parents, Michael and Darlene Capobianco, who accepted it on behalf of their son.
Andrew Capobianco is representing the United States at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo in the 3-meter individual and the 3-meter synchronized diving events. He was born in New York and moved with his family to Holly Springs to have better facilities and coaching for his diving career. Andrew is a 2017 graduate of Holly Springs High School
In other action at the meeting, the Council:
- Rezoned 13 acres north of Optimist Farm Road and west of Sunset Lake Road. Plans for the property include a child care facility, office building, and residential uses.
- Amended the Arbor Creek/Middle Creek Greenway plan to include a connection to Linksland Drive and the Sunset Ridge development. The connection will add $85,000 to design costs. Construction is expected to begin this fall.
