HOLLY SPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT: School Zone Speed Limits Are In Effect and School Buses Are On The Roads

Pedestrian

Holly Springs Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.

With an increase in road traffic in school zones, drivers are reminded to be alert for pedestrians, to slow down and to always follow school zone speed limits.

Do not ignore flashing red lights on school buses! Flashing red lights indicate students are loading and unloading at stops throughout the community.

You must stop a safe distance back from a school bus when lights are activated and when approaching a school bus from ANY direction (unless it is a four lane road separated by a median or a turning lane – then only traffic following the school bus must stop). Drivers must remain stopped until flashing lights are turned off.

Thank you Holly Springs. Your patience and cooperation will ensure the continued safety of students, drivers and pedestrians.
