Knightdale Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.
We dedicate this year’s upcoming Shop with a Cop event in honor of fallen Knightdale Police Officer Ryan Hayworth. His young life on Earth ended October 17, 2021, in the line of duty, here in Knightdale. Ryan lived a life of exemplary service to others. He served as an Army National Guard Specialist during Operation Enduring Freedom in Kuwait. He served locally during Hurricane Ida. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church and served globally in many service missions with a Christ filled heart. We know that had he lived long enough, Ryan would have loved participating in this joyous event. Our Police Officers love having the opportunity to help make these kids Christmas Seasons as wonderful as can be.
In his honor, we ask that you consider helping us fund this event. Any amount is appreciated, no matter how great or small. Help us help Knightdale’s kids in need. You can bring your donations to the Main Police Station or reach out to Lt. Ginger Keel at ginger.keel@knightdalenc.gov.
