Town of Cary issued the following announcement on Dec. 28.
On Monday, January 3, consultants working on behalf of the Town of Cary will begin contacting over 400 residents, selected at random, to solicit their opinions on how well Cary’s government works for them. Citizens will be contacted by phone and asked to spend about 20 minutes answering 50 questions for the scientific poll, which will be conducted through January 31. Topics will include public safety, services, communications, transportation, recreation, and the environment.
“While the pandemic has altered some of the ways we do business, we have and will continue to provide services for Cary citizens, so it’s important that we continue using science-based research to learn and understand what they’re feeling about their local government as well as the place they’ve chosen to call home,” said Town Manager Sean R. Stegall. “We encourage you to answer our call if you’re one of those who’s randomly selected to participate.”
This will be the 13th survey of this kind that Cary has conducted about its operations and services. As in previous years, the 2022 survey is divided into three parts:
- Questions carried over from previous surveys, which allow Cary to track trends in its performance
- Questions that change from survey to survey, which help indicate current or emerging issues
- Demographic questions (age, sex, race, and education), which help ensure the sample group is representative of Cary’s population
BKL Research of Salem, VA, has contracted with the Town to conduct the study and related focus groups at a cost of $34,760. The survey report is expected in spring 2022, and will be posted in the Surveys and Research section of townofcary.org, where an archive of previous reports is also available.
