Snowparking

Town of Cary issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.

Ready for more? Snow is in the forecast for the third consecutive weekend, and Cary’s preparations are well underway.

The Town has announced the following service changes for Saturday, January 29:

  • Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources facilities will open at noon on Saturday, January 29. Youth basketball participants will hear from their coaches about game status, which will also be available by location on the Weather Delays/Cancellations page.
  • The Citizens Convenience Center will have a delayed opening, operating from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • GoCary will delay its start time until 9 a.m. for all fixed routes and door to door service.
Public Works crews on Thursday pre-treated main roads with brine mixture, hoping to speed melting after the precipitation.

“While accumulation in our area is not expected to be significant, temperatures near freezing on Saturday could still mean dangerous road conditions, especially on side streets and in neighborhoods,” said Public Works director Matt Flynn. "Citizens are urged to stay off the roads so emergency vehicles can travel easily and to allow crews to plow and spread."

Forecasted wind gusts also mean potential for power outages. If you lose power, you can report an outage by phone, text, or online:
