Town of Wendell issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
Law Enforcement officials in Wendell are encouraging people to stay safe by buckling up if they travel this Thanksgiving holiday. The Wendell Police Department will increase patrols to encourage seat belt use during the statewide Thanksgiving “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign beginning November 21st.
“A simple extra moment in action to ensure you’re safely in your car can make a world of difference as you travel to your destination on this holiday and every day,” said Police Chief Bill Carter.
So far this year, 555 people have been killed and 1,150 seriously injured in crashes with unbuckled civilians.
