Town of Wendell issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.
The Town of Wendell is requesting the submission of a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from professional design consulting firms to provide professional services for the development of a Buffalo Creek Greenway/Multi-Use Path.
The Buffalo Creek Greenway/Multi-Use Path will eventually extend from the Main Street Greenway to Robertson Mill Pond Preserve. The proposed 3.5 mile path would run along Buffalo Creek, connecting residential neighborhoods, Wake Tech Community College’s Eastern Wake 4.0 campus, and other commercial areas. The path should include a connection to Carver Elementary School campus. Long term this greenway/multi-use path will connect thousands of residents between Downtown Wendell and Wake County’s Robertson Mill Pond Preserve.
The Town of Wendell is requesting concept design services for the entire segment of the path, that totals 18,480 feet and would be constructed at a later date. The paved path should be 14 feet wide and should address challenges such as crossing Wendell Boulevard, crossing I-87, and navigating waterways along Buffalo Creek (see map 1).
Additionally, the Town is requesting construction drawings for the segment of the trail on the Wendell Town Park property (see map 2).
Deadline to submit your proposal is December 16th! For more information, visit: https://pulse.ly/zkqegiy3ss
