Two North Carolina Courage players have been named to the 2024 NWSL Best XI, as announced by the league office. Defender Kaleigh Kurtz received first team honors, while defender Ryan Williams was selected for the second team.

The Best XI recognizes the top 22 players in the National Women's Soccer League. Selections are based on a weighted voting system: players contribute 40%, owners, general managers, and coaches 25%, media 25%, and fans 10%. Those selected receive a cash bonus.

Kurtz was a finalist for Defender of the Year and made her first appearance on the Best XI first team this year. She has been recognized in consecutive years, having earned second team honors in 2023. Known for her durability, she holds the league record for consecutive regular-season minutes played. In 2024, Kurtz achieved a passing accuracy of 86.02% with 21 interceptions, recorded one goal from ten shots with four on target, and won 17 tackles.

Williams recently extended her contract with North Carolina Courage through 2027. This season marked her best performance statistically as she secured her first yearly recognition. As a regular starter at right back in her second year, Williams ranked second in the league with 55 tackles won and made 53 interceptions. Her passing rate stood at an impressive 85.65%, creating 22 chances and winning 117 duels.

North Carolina Courage is one of three teams featuring defenders on both the first and second Best XI teams this year, alongside Orlando and Washington who will compete in Saturday's NWSL Championship.
