North Carolina Courage announces preseason roster ahead of NWSL season

The North Carolina Courage has released its updated preseason roster, adhering to the National Women's Soccer League's 32-player limit. The current camp includes 30 players, with 21 under contract and five on international duty.

All five players on international duty are contracted, bringing the total rostered players to 26. Of these, 25 are active while one is on the season-ending injury list. The team has utilized all six available international spots, having traded one to San Diego Wave FC in exchange for midfielder Jaedyn Shaw. Shaw is presently representing the United States Women's National Team at the SheBelieves Cup.

The roster is categorized by position and lists contracted players followed by non-roster invitees.

Goalkeepers include Marisa Bova, Hensley Hancuff, Casey Murphy, and Katie Cappelletti (NRI). Defenders feature Maycee Bell, Malia Berkely, Sydney Collins (SEI), Brooklyn Courtnall, Kaleigh Kurtz, Charlotte McLean (INT), Natalia Staude, Ryan Williams, Taylor Jacobson (NRI), and Italia Gemelli (NRI).

Midfielders comprise Riley Jackson, Shinomi Koyama (INT), Brianna Pinto, Ashley Sanchez, Meredith Speck, Dani Weatherholt, Ashlyn Miller (NRI), Jillian Martinez (NRI), and Amber Nguyen (NRI). Forwards include Hannah Betfort, Tyler Lussi, Cortnee Vine (INT), Olivia Wingate, Grayson Lynch (NRI), Heather MacNab (NRI), and Jilly Shimkin (NRI).

Players on international duty are Aline Gomes (INT), Manaka Matsukubo (INT), Denise O’Sullivan, Felicitas Rauch (INT), and Jaedyn Shaw.
