The North Carolina Courage have announced the signing of forward Heather MacNab to a short-term contract. MacNab, a graduate of Princeton University, joined the team as a non-roster invitee during the preseason. The Courage's current roster consists of 24 active players, with two on injured reserve and one on the season-ending injury list.

MacNab was a four-year member of the Princeton Tigers, where she played in 72 games and started in 50. Over her college career from 2021 to 2024, she accumulated 3,972 minutes on the field, scored 13 goals, and made 24 assists. She took 40 shots on goal and successfully converted all four penalty attempts.

Reflecting on her experience with the Courage so far, MacNab stated: “My time here so far has been the most rewarding experience of my life. The North Carolina Courage demands the highest standard of excellence every day, and the team and the staff’s dedication to maintaining that standard is unbelievable."

She expressed excitement about signing her first professional contract: "To be able to sign my first professional contract and represent one of the most storied clubs in the NWSL is a dream come true. I am so honored and excited to begin my professional career in Courage Country."

MacNab hails from Indianapolis and received several accolades during her senior year at Princeton in 2024. She was named second-team United Soccer Coaches all-region selection, second-team All-ECAC, first-team All-Ivy, and received an honorable mention for All-Ivy as a sophomore in 2022.

The North Carolina Courage recently secured a draw in their season opener on the road. They are scheduled to make their home debut for the 2025 season this Saturday against Seattle Reign FC at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park. Following this match, Jessica McDonald will be inducted as the second member of the Ring of Honor.
